New Slubes 2.0 and 2014 Retroactive (Ha, I Wish! ‘Spective.)

The next part of Slubes 2.0 is available; everything up to the final day is now available. But that’s not what the focus of this post is because hey it’s 2015! Time to look back on 2014. A lot of stuff happened over the year, and I’m going to ignore it here because this post is about ME ME ME.

First, let’s look at my look back at 2013. According to Past Duth, 2013 was my biggest year ever, and while I’m not sure if 2014 beat it, it probably tied it. That just didn’t activate until halfway through the year. At the start of last year, my goal was to finish Darmenzi, release it around June, and work on my third novel. What happened?

Around June was when I decided to jump back and get an editor for Slubes. Between that, reorganizing how I release my novels, and getting a Patreon account, that’s what made 2014 so big for me. Things changed more than when I actually released Slubes. However, I did meet my original goal of getting the first draft of Wandering Fortunes done (Remember that? Haven’t mentioned it in months. That won’t be until 2016 probably.); all the other goals were just changed completely.

Aside from that, this was the first year that I began already with a day job. The middle third of the year was spent not working through (“on furlough” as they say), but as editing for Slubes 2.0 didn’t begin until I went back to work, I spent a lot of time without much to do and then a bunch of time with way too much to do.

And then Smash Bros. came out! gah.

So what’s the goal for 2015? I have both scheduled goals and planned goals. Slubes early draft will be available on this site in full come March 1st. That’s scheduled. This means Darmenzi will begin posting on April 1st. Only a horrible accident will stop these from happening.

What I plan to do is finish Slubes 2.0 and republish it. It may not be until sometime in March that I finish the current work on it, and then I’ll send it back to my editor for another edit. Then I have another edit or two based on that, so for right now my tentative goal is just gonna be June 4th because that’s exactly two years after Slubes 1.0 was released.

I would also like to finish Darmenzi. I’ll have some time while my editor is looking at Slubes, and I’ll also have to work on Darmenzi as I start posting it on here. If I can finish it by the end of the year, I’ll be happy. If it’s done early next year, I’ll still be pleased.

Basically from now until THE END OF TIME I am going to be busy.

I think I’ll go back to bed.
