March 10th, 2016: Slubes Release Date

Can you tell which one is the new edition?

How about now?

The old edition of Slubes was just under 200 pages. The new edition is just under 300, not counting the appendices. I’m not even sure how that happened, but there’s quite a lot more here now!
So yes, everything is ready, and I’m all prepared, so I’m calling on Thursday, March 10th, 2016 as the release date for Slubes edition 2. That’s in 2 1/2 weeks. 2 1/2 weeks to talk about it on social media (well, Twitter), panic a little, and plan out the non-festivities.

At this point I would normally say that pre-ordering is now going, buuuut I’m not sure if that will be possible. Apparently Createspace requires a publication date BEFORE you get the proof copy and know that, yes, everything is good, we can totally move ahead with this publication date, there will NOT be any disasters. However, I have emailed them, and I’m going to see if I can change that publication date to March 10th and make pre-ordering available.

Smashwords, well, that’s just updating the old book, apparently even if you unpublish you can’t set a new publication date and have pre-orders for it. However, I might consider donations on my Patreon as pre-orders, since a pledge of $1 or more gets you an ebook copy. Maybe you can even get the book early…

On the 10th I will most likely have a video stream where I read from Slubes and be awkward, yay. There will be more on that closer to the date as I work on my plans.

Anyway, this post is kind of volatile due to my using HTML to make two columns where that image is, as it has basically completely confused and messed up the “visual” editor. I’m starting to think it would be easier to just learn HTML in full than try to use editors that are clearly designed to look fancy but not actually do anything fancy. So! March 10th. Slubes. And the usual schedule of March 1st for the new Darmenzi chapter. See you soon.
