New! Wandering Fortunes chapter 27: Fools and Love

Chapter 27 is now up! Alden continues to bemoan his falling in love with an unattainable princess, but hope springs eternal when he learns she’s hosting a party soon and Top’s Pizza is doing some catering! He now has an in to meet the princess. Will he woo, or will he choke?

I’m charging into the final main edits for Wandering Fortunes–all I have is the final chapter. There’s more editing to do after that but that’ll leave me ready to post the rest of this story over the next year. I have a lot of work and a lot of projects, so I’m always busy.

And hey, if you want to help ensure I actually have the time to work on all these things, check out my Patreon! It’s a service where you can give a certain amount of money each month (like $1 or $3) and maybe get stuff from it. I’m gonna be posting chapter 28 for patrons later today, and I give weekly updates on what I’m doing, too. I also plan, if I reach a hundred patrons on there, to make Cloudy Cuckoo Cosmail a regular thing. If you can’t or don’t want to give monthly, I also have a Ko-fi where you can give a one-time donation of $3. Every bit helps!

Species Profile: Kudeso

The last Wandering Fortunes chapter featured a kudeso as a major character, so I figured let’s take a look at this speed freak bird species. Here’s the profile page for kudesos, which I think just about wraps up all the major Zhop species. There may be a few more here and there.

Just a reminder, those who give to my Patreon can read chapters half a month early, and the next chapter will be going up later today (or tonight depending on when I doze off today). Same with my Ko-fi–send a cup, read the next chapter early!

Species Profile: Nervist

Like with Slubes and Darmenzi, with Wandering Fortunes comes a host of new species to be added to the website. The most recent chapter introduced a plethora of them, but this profile is of a species that introduced in the previous chapter, the imposing bird with a bad reputation, nervists.
As usual, with it being the middle of the month, the next chapter will be going up on Patreon for $3+ patrons today! If you can’t give that much, though, $1 gets you access to a weekly update where I post excerpts of what I’ve worked on over the week. Next update is tomorrow, probably with an excerpt from chapter 11.

Now up, Wandering Fortunes chapter 7: The Obsidian City

Chapter 7 of Wandering Fortunes is now up. The Obsidian City, New Zhopolis, finally appears! Big city! Tall buildings! Dim lights!  Innumerable residents! Numerable but still a pretty high number of species! Subways, districts, roads, vehicles, orators, scam artists, grumps, racism, and jerks, jerks, jerks!

Wait, somewhere along the line that took a turn for the worse. Will the big city turn out to be all that it promises to be? Or will it turn out to be more than that and it turned out we just didn’t hear its promises right the first time?

As always, I post these chapters early for $3+ patrons on Patreon, so this chapter has been available for a couple weeks now and patrons will be able to see more of Alden and his friends’ adventures in The Big City in just a couple weeks. Even if you give just one dollar though you still get to see things early, as I post weekly updates that include a snippet of work much further ahead. You can take a look at a bit of chapter ten already!

Wandering Fortunes chapter 6: Friends of a Feather, and the story cover!

Yes! We finally have the cover for Wandering Fortunes, and it looks amazing! First, the new chapter can be read here. And for the cover…

Drawn by my talented friend Daimyo-Koikoi, we have our protagonists here, plus a couple shadows… And, of course, Top is being mischievous.

I can finally replace that drawing of Top I’d been using as a placeholder. Also as a reminder, my Patreon has chapters go up early for patrons. Chapter 7 will go up in mid-June. They even got to see the cover early!

New version of “Tough as Blades” short story

Some time ago I took to the short story I posted here years ago and edited it rather significantly, using the knowledge I’d gained from having an editor go over Slubes. Although it’s not entirely something new for this month, there are new scenes, including one that show how Master Hydra met Crawmaster, and all the old scenes have been thoroughly edited to be much better. “Tough as Blades“, the story whose title was the result of me forgetting that the actual phrase is tough as nails and that nails and blades don’t really have all that much in common??

One more month of 2016. On January 1st, Wandering Fortunes begins. A new world. New characters. New species. New nonsense. New beach ball. Around mid-December (the 16th or a few days after) I’m going to post some information to start diving into the new setting and everything of Wandering Fortunes. We saw Mintop over two books. Now we’ll see two planets over one book.

Of course, if you want to see this story start half a month early, you can become a patron over at Patreon!

Darmenzi Chapter 19: Dragged into Darkness

Here we go, Chapter 19 of Darmenzi, Dragged into Darkness, is up. It’s the first half of the climax. Destination: moon. Destination: destruction. It is the chapter where everything is ruined! Can our heroes stop a disastrous plan? Will they even be given a chance? Can Chee keep her temper checked? Will the orbs have the power to stop Darmenzi? Read on for the first half of the answers!

Also, Duth and Wally have a pleasant chat with the villain. Well, not really.

Want to see the ending before anyone else? It’s totally possible with my Patreon. I post chapters half a month early for patrons, and I include weekly updates on how slow work is now that I’m working the dayjob again. But work is being done. Just not during the day.

Chapter 3 of Darmenzi available

Go read it! It features a sad blob and mentions mysteries of histories. Spent a little while figuring out the new Patreon post editor; for a moment, I thought I’d have to deal with the image for the post being gigantic.

In other news, Slubes is off to the editor, so if I can’t say with certainty that the final product will be out before the end of the year, then… sheesh. Also, I’ll have something special up here around the middle of the month. Which means… I need to actually get that written. See you then!
