Cloudy Cuckoo Cosmail Comic 1

Wow, wow, wow! Here it is after I kept saying I’d upload it and then not! The first ever Cloudy Cuckoo Cosmail comic! Top is asked the most crucious… cruciul… crucial? Crucial. The most crucial question of all, and then we get some advertisement in for everyone’s favorite pizza place! I can’t thank Jameshark enough for bringing Top to life, or at least still life. Still, look at that ball, they’re so bouncy they’re just full of life.

At some point I’d like to make this a regular thing, but I need to get more patrons before that can happen. Consider it! A new chapter every month, weekly updates on what I’m working on… words! Either way, thanks for reading.

I’m planning on making a dedicated page for comics on this website, both for Cosmail and other CCC comics that might crop up over time, as well as just a place to list the Pokemon Moon comic and other such things.

New! Wandering Fortunes Chapter 20: To the Ends of Zhop

Here we are, chapter 20 of Wandering Fortunes, the longest chapter in the novel so far and the end of part 1! Alden and his friends have to flee Zhop from the Zhopian Guard. They get what family they can and make a great escape–or at least an adequate escape–well, I certainly hope it’s adequate. With the way things look, they might need a leg up–but the Zhopian Guard might even shoot that leg off! The jerks. I don’t even know if they’ll make it…

Of course, you can find out more about what will happen sooner, you can give to my Patreon or make a one-time Ko-fi donation. You’ll get to read chapters early and pretty much find out more about what I’ll be posting for the next rest of the year.

Chapter 9 of Wandering Fortunes is up!

Chapter 9: No Hobo features the first kind clerpson our friends encounter in New Zhopolis. At least, let’s hope he turns out to be friendly–it’s hard to trust anyone in a big city like this. At the bottom of the city, though, depressed and alone, it seems he may be their way to make it in the city. Or at least live in it. Also features the sudden appearance of another character, a strange-looking one whose appearance raises even more questions than Top’s look does. Well, those questions will keep coming next chapter, so whatever.

I don’t think I’ve mentioned this yet, but I got some information from my editor and soon it will finally be time to charge full steam ahead on finishing Darmenzi! Yes, that’s still a thing that’s going to happen! Kind of crazy to think it’s been nine months since its last chapter was posted on here, but it’s been edited to be way better and I hope I can get this out before the year’s end! (If not, I may very well shoot for two years to the day after the second edition of Slubes released.) I’ve never been strong on the advertising front, but I hope to change that. oh no

And remember, I have a Patreon where you can read these new chapters half a month early. Chapter 10 will come in mid-September. Plus, you can get a free ebook copy of Darmenzi a month before the final release!

oh and you can make a word mandatory to appear on my website, more on that later

Pokemon Moon Comic 41-50: Refreshing Glass of Bugbus

It’s been a while since the last posting of these. Not doing the dayjob now means I have more time, but working heavily on the novels means I have less time. My schedule showed I should’ve had comic 50 done a week ago, since I want to do three a week… Anyway, in this group we get a couple evolutions (including one of the best gen 7 Pokemon), some new team members, and a trial. Also I would legit pay $60 for a Hey You, Wooper! game.

Now up, Darmenzi Chapter 17: Final Challenge

The not-quite-tournament is under way with chapter 17 of Darmenzi! Numer faces his fears, Pocerni shows his experience, Cherry gets some punches in, and Sawn gets a bad deal. Will Conrad finally get his day and destroy his nuisances? Who will take the final orb? The answer may surprise you!

We’re in August now, and I’m expecting this month to be called back to the day job. When this happens my social media presence will probably have to die until I can get out again, probably in February. By then Darmenzi will be finished and a new story will begin. I’ll keep everyone posted.

Time in the Cloudy Cuckoo Cosmos

One of the complicated things I’ve found I have to do for the Cloudy Cuckoo Cosmos is time. Just time in general. It doesn’t make much sense for all three main planets to have the same year and day cycle, so it could be a completely different part of the year on one planet, or day. Sure, on just one planet it can be 3:00 at one place and 19:00 on the other, but here is a situation where it can be 21:00 on one planet and the other two don’t even have this time.

To ease confusion where one planet may have more days than another, I calculated day and year length to be roughly equal among all the planets. This is also roughly equal to the length on Earth. Isn’t nature weird and not at all being manipulated by someone who can’t be bothered to deal with this sort of stuff??

The other side of time shenaginags is that I’ve never really bothered to figure out when exactly events take place. This is no problem for Slubes and Darmenzi, which only happen over a 5-day span, but the third novel will take place well over a year, so if those events have to be referenced it would pay to know exactly when things happen.

Speaking of referenced, in Darmenzi there was a scene where Numer is watching television and hears the line, “… announcement today by New Zhopolis snowble governor Christen that they would set aside a portion of the public building renovations budget to form a new district to create housing for the homeless…” A reference to the third novel, but since writing that I’ve changed the timeline so this novel happens a year earlier, so that line will no longer work. I had to change it, but first I would need to figure out what was going on in the third novel at the time to see if I could fit another future reference in.

So aside from creating an actual calendar for these planets, I need to determine exactly what days all the events take place.

Once upon a time I had the ability to be bored.

Darmenzi Chapter 13 now up

Oh, um, er, eh, April Fool’s! Yes, it was totally intentional that I didn’t post the new chapter yesterday. ha ha ha ha hahahahahaHAHAHAHAHA HA HA HA HA HA. HA. HA. HA. HA.

ha

So here’s chapter 13 of Darmenzi, Aquasphere. It features water and a brief discussion of anime and was rather significantly edited a few years ago after I played the demo of a little game called Undertale, maybe you’ve heard of it.

I’ve had about 5 hours of sleep now so I need a nap. Mention of Patreon, which I think I just discovered every post I’ve made announcing new chapters up have only been available to patrons?? I like don’t even know. I’m confused now. Gee, what else is new?

Chapter 5 of Darmenzi, Invisible Beard, now up

Darmenzi Chapter 5: Invisible Beard is now up and available and readable and has a gooey marshmallow center. Except maybe not that last part. Sorry.

It features ghosts and pirates. What more could the internet want? A dragon? Okay!

As for me, things are as the same as they were last month as ever. I really want to quit my day job, but I can’t because we live in a society that makes you waste your life so that you can not die? Oh society, you’re so full of contradictions.

At least I’m still a few months ahead on Darmenzi. Should be halfway with the editing in a couple weeks. Still no news on Slubes, but you know what they say, no news tells you absolutely nothing about the situation, and while some may say it is positive information, others will begin to go crazy thinking of all the worst possible scenarios! Put that on a shirt and sell it! Go ahead, people will love it! Except it has a lot of words so they’ll probably actually hate you for it.

As always, Patreon is where you can give me money when I post these chapters. Perhaps someday I’ll be able to post two chapters a month, at which point that “really want to quit my day job” might be feasible.
