Pokemon Moon Comic 41-50: Refreshing Glass of Bugbus

It’s been a while since the last posting of these. Not doing the dayjob now means I have more time, but working heavily on the novels means I have less time. My schedule showed I should’ve had comic 50 done a week ago, since I want to do three a week… Anyway, in this group we get a couple evolutions (including one of the best gen 7 Pokemon), some new team members, and a trial. Also I would legit pay $60 for a Hey You, Wooper! game.

Mini comic series coming in about a month (read: Pokemon)

The final chapter of Darmenzi releases in just over a week! We’ll see who survives and who is finished! This post isn’t about that but I just wanted to get that out of the way and also make sure everyone sees that first because it’s super important.

I’m still working on the third book Wandering Fortunes, but since I’m doing the dayjob now the time I have to work on it is really small. Last week I didn’t get any work done. I’m not sure if I even did the week before. Mostly that’s because on my days off I’ve had other things to do, but these next few weeks I plan to definitely get to work and finish chapter 6 so I can then proceed to not even bother with chapter 7 until I stop working again.

It turns out chapter 7 has a lot of stuff I need to rewrite and write in and add and stuff and so instead of going crazy trying to use what little time I have to do that, I’m going to point out that Pokemon Sun and Moon come out probably the week after I finish chapter 6 and I’m going to want to play that so I’m totally fine with putting actual work aside for then. But I’m going to want to continue to do some work.

At this point people who are interested in comics have said I have way too many words and have left.

Whenever I play a Pokemon game I end up giving my team members personalities. It just sort of happens. It probably comes with the author territory. I’ve considered doing comics about these playthroughs before, but whoops, I am terrible at art. And you know what? I don’t know if I care about that enough to not do this!

I’m even making you click a thing to see this! It’s like I just don’t care!

Now up, Darmenzi Chapter 17: Final Challenge

The not-quite-tournament is under way with chapter 17 of Darmenzi! Numer faces his fears, Pocerni shows his experience, Cherry gets some punches in, and Sawn gets a bad deal. Will Conrad finally get his day and destroy his nuisances? Who will take the final orb? The answer may surprise you!

We’re in August now, and I’m expecting this month to be called back to the day job. When this happens my social media presence will probably have to die until I can get out again, probably in February. By then Darmenzi will be finished and a new story will begin. I’ll keep everyone posted.

Darmenzi Chapter 15: Abandoned Electric Isle now available

Duth_Olec: Hey, you try coming up for good designs for elemental guardian thingies that aren’t actually elemental. I mean, that is to say, whatever brought these guardians into being was probably amazing and smart and at least passable in looks.

Chapter 15: Abandoned Electric Isle

Chapter 15 now available, featuring a mysterious island and a bunch of electricity everywhere. It’s dangerous and weird and definitely not my fault.

With this chapter we are 3/4 through Darmenzi! The end of the year will see the finish of this story. The actual release of the novel, well, who knows?

Character Profile: Professor Zeth

The second main character of Slubes is a slube 32 years old; he’s an inventor, an engineer, and a slube of science, although his status as an actual Professor is somewhat ambiguous. Hailing from a major city on an island north of Nottle, he is somewhat worldlier than the other two main characters, aside from the fact he’s kind of a scatterbrained goof-up and his competency is sometimes called into question. He’s always got a chipper attitude, though, and is a whiz at mechanics—he just doesn’t have much common sense.

In Slubes, he’s been living in Nottle in obscurity, studying the crystal at the focus of the novel. It’s he who brings the others together to rebuild it after it shatters, and it’s he who has the transportation they need to do so in a timely matter. The Transpide is a vehicle of his own design fitted with gadgets and gizmos to help them on their way—it’s just lacking some very important features like rear-view mirrors!
